Episode 250 – House of Earth and Blood

House of Blood and Earth by Sarah J. Maas

Thanks to Porter Square Books for hosting our 250th Anniversary live show! And thanks to everyone who turned out in person or for the livestream! If you missed it, or just want to relive it without all that pesky visual input, here’s the audio-only version of that episode. Meredith Goldstein (the Boston Globe’s Love Letters columnist, author of books including Things That Grow, and Horny Faeries enthusiast) joined us to discuss House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. Fortunately (for Renata’s parents, who were in attendance) or unfortunately (for readers), this book wasn’t as horny as some of SJM’s other works. Still, we had much to discuss. Perhaps most notably: does Sarah J. Maas think dogs should be allowed to vote?

Episode 192 – Catwoman: Soulstealer

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas

What’s new, pussycat? We were joined by Meredith Goldstein, the Boston Globe’s Love Letters columnist and podcaster (and author of Things That Grow), to discuss Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas. It’s a book about DC’s horniest character written by one of the horniest YA authors of our time, so why was this book so focused on serious medical conditions? Listen to this episode while you prepare for your next gala.

Episode 99 – A Court of Wings and Ruin

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

Y’all know TFW you’re an extremely powerful faerie who has an important role to play in a war to save all of magic-kind, but you’re also extremely DTF? Meredith Goldstein (@MeredithGoldste), author and advice columnist for The Boston Globe’s Love Letters column and podcast, knows all about that feel, so we invited her to discuss A Court of Wings and Ruin, as well as the rest of Sarah J. Maas’s Court of Thorns and Roses YA fantasy series.  If you take a drink every time we mix up the titles of these books, then you probably won’t notice all the times we mess up the characters’ names!
